SEO Audit
Part of SEO Services
In short
An SEO audit is a structured review of a website's crawlability, indexation, technical health, content structure and search readiness, delivered as a prioritised list of fixes. Offsage audits cover classic search and AI answer engines together, and start at $1,500 as a fixed-scope project.
Key takeaways
- A useful audit ranks findings by expected impact against effort — not by severity label alone.
- The gap between what you think is indexed and what is actually indexed is usually the single most valuable finding.
- An audit that cannot be actioned by an engineer is a document, not a deliverable.
- Offsage audits include AI-search readiness, because the same structural defects affect both surface types.

How this works
Offsage audits open by comparing three lists: the URLs the site publishes, the URLs the sitemap declares, and the URLs a search engine has actually indexed. Almost every audit finds meaningful disagreement between them, and that disagreement is where the fastest wins are. From there the review covers canonical correctness, redirect chains, internal linking depth, rendered versus source HTML, Core Web Vitals and structured-data validity.
Each finding is written up with a reproduction step, an expected impact, and an estimated effort, then sorted by the ratio between the last two. That ordering is what makes an audit usable — a team with limited engineering time should be able to start at the top of the list and work down without re-prioritising it themselves.
The AI-search layer is included rather than sold separately. Pages that cannot be crawled or rendered consistently are not retrievable by any engine, and pages without a self-contained direct answer have nothing for a generative system to extract. The audit reports on both, with the same prioritisation applied.
What this covers
- Published versus declared versus indexed URL reconciliation
- Canonical, redirect and trailing-slash consistency review
- Internal linking depth and orphan page detection
- JavaScript rendering comparison: source HTML versus rendered DOM
- Core Web Vitals diagnosis with engineering-level recommendations
- Structured data validation against visible page content
- AI search readiness: direct answers, question headings, extractable structure, entity clarity
- Prioritised backlog with reproduction steps, impact and effort estimates
Typical stack
- Google Search Console
- Bing Webmaster Tools
- Lighthouse
- Schema.org
- Playwright

Questions on seo audit
A crawl and index reconciliation, canonical and redirect review, internal linking analysis, rendering comparison for JavaScript routes, Core Web Vitals diagnosis, structured-data validation, and an AI-search readiness assessment — delivered as a prioritised backlog with reproduction steps.
A fixed-scope audit on a typical marketing site takes roughly one to two weeks depending on site size and how much of it is client-rendered. Sites with large programmatic URL surfaces take longer because the URL set itself needs analysis before findings can be prioritised.
Yes, and many clients do exactly that. The audit is written to be implementation-ready, with reproduction steps and expected impact rather than vague recommendations. Offsage can also implement the fixes directly if you prefer.
Yes. The audit is framework-agnostic. Findings that require code changes are flagged as such, and for platform-hosted sites Offsage identifies what is fixable in the platform versus what needs engineering work.
